New encaustic and collage painting “Poor Alice”

I’ve been working on this 18×24 encaustic painting this week. Putting a lot of thought and attention into this, I found that the grid method worked REALLY well for me. I will be trying it again. The title, “Poor Alice,” is from a page in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland that I have printed in archival ink on my printer. I just liked it as a title, that’s the story. Here’s the painting.

I finished this painting last week after looking at some “purple swirly flowers” that we had on our kitchen table. As always, it’s in my etsy shop.

Bright Pansies, Acrylic & Mixed Media on Canvas, 10×10

I am working on painting different flowers with different colors together on the same canvas. Here is  my latest effort with pansies. I’ve started cutting paper and making collages for the backgrounds giving them a “quilted” texture. I’m enjoying that a lot so there’s more to come.
