Shrinky Dink Art Drives Me CRAZY!

But it was worth it! After about 10 completely failed attempts, I finally got the hang of cooking this plastic menace! And figured out enough to do a little art project with colored pencils and sharpies. It’s not quite like I saw on Pinterest, but I am happy enough now to turn off the oven and forget the whole thing. For now…hahahaha.

Also, please apologize to your loved ones, because I know you will be sucked into Pinterest after reading this. 🙂

Collage of the Day 7.28.12

I rubbed a bunch of stamp inks on this one. Then, colored areas with caran d’ ache crayons.

It measures about 3×3 inches.

Ranunculus Painting

These flowers are just SO COOL! And also, VERY hard for me to paint. Here is a 16×20 I finished last week. And, that’s about all I got done. I have a 20×20 of lilies started as well. 🙂

Multicolored Swirlies

“Purple Swirlies” Painting

Purple Swirlies 8x8

I finished this painting last week after looking at some “purple swirly flowers” that we had on our kitchen table. As always, it’s in my etsy shop.

Two New Red & White Paintings

Since the birth of my daughter five weeks ago, I’ve slowly completed two 6×6 paintings using red and white. I loved the little red orchids so much, I had to do another one using similar colors with lilies. I have listed the lily painting on etsy but I am too in love with the orchid one to sell it just yet. 🙂

Poppies & Daisies

This one is 20×20 and I tried something new with fluid acrylic paints in the background to make “leaves.” I’m pleased because the greens and blues mix in with the background nicely, allowing the flowers to stick out more.
