Well, thanks to a Facebook friend, I ended up drawing today, even though I said I wasn’t going to. So, thanks Facebook Friend for posting your beautiful coffee cup this morning. 🙂

Coffee Drawings: More Vintage Dishes!

Thank you Presents of Mind in Portland, for posting your newest collection of vintage-looking dishes! The photo is beautiful and it inspired today’s coffee drawing.

A Lesson In Neutrals Leads to Change

I changed up these two paintings quite a bit because I felt that adding neutral colors would make them look more “professional.” Have a look. 🙂

Work in Progress or, I’m Back BABY!

Work in Progress or, I'm Back BABY!

I just started an e-course on intuitive painting with Flora Bowley, http://braveintuitiveyou.com/. Though I saw her work last year and LOVED it! I was skeptical about the idea of an “e-course.” As my computer programmer husband refers to them, MOOCs (pronounced “MOCKS”) Massive Open Online Classes are a new thing for me and I wasn’t sure I would even finish it. And I haven’t finished it, in fact, it’s only day 2, but I am SO PLEASED with how this way of thinking, mainly reassuring a way of thinking we all have in us, is helping me with my mixed media work. What fun!

Today’s inspiration

I loved the colors on the cover of the paper source catalog this month!

Ok, I tried something new with this one, I adhered the elements with double sided framer’s tape. You know, the kind they use on the back of your artwork to stick the paper? There you have it. I tried using gouache exclusively, but I had to go back to acrylics to finish it. 🙂

“Desk Cleaners”

I call these “Desk Cleaners” because they come from my putting away scraps to clean off my desk. Husband says, “that’s painting, not cleaning.” But to me, it’s all the same. 🙂
